Who is Whitney Kenney?

Whitney has been a practitioner in the field of holistic health for over 10 years. Her journey began shortly after moving to northern CA (by way of Alaska, and originally from Kansas) to volunteer with an organization called WOOF - World-wide Opportunities on Organic Farms - at a farm called County Line Harvest in Petaluma, CA. There, she lived in a yurt on the property taking care of the land, preparing boxes to deliver to local restaurants and working Farmers Market booths all over the Bay Area. It was during her time working at the Ferry Building farmer's market in SF that Whitney became enamored with nutrition and taste. It was then that she discovered Ayurveda. Ayurvedic Nutrition leans primarily on food as medicine, and incorporates 6 tastes into each meal to fully satiate the pallet. Self-studying Ayurvedic nutrition while living on the farm and educating folks about their greens purchases at Farmer's Markets was the starting point of  a journey in holistic health.

Whitney focused her attention on studying bodywork because so much of living an Ayurvedic lifestyle orbits around self-knowledge and self-care. She moved to SF to attend National Holistic Institute to train to be a Massage Therapist. It was there that her passion for the eastern wisdom of Ayurveda and the western science of Lymphatic Massage merged. Whitney apprenticed under Andrea Shuman, an Ayurvedic Practitioner in Pac Heights who currently is the sole proprietor of the business I Love Ghee. She learned to blend oils for doshas, Ayurvedic body therapies and traditional four-handed Abhyanga massage.

Whitney moved from SF to the Bay Area peninsula to offer Ayurvedic Body Therapies under the guidance of Ayurvedic Practitioner Geeta Priya Arora. She and Geeta offered bodywork for clients ranging from monthly Abhyangas to 7-day Panchakarma. To culminate her hands-on training, she then traveled to India to study Ayurvedic medicine at the Sivananda Institute of Health. While in India, Whitney worked under the guidance of Doctor Visnhu tending to villagers offering Ayurvedic remedies.

Currently, Whitney offers Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultations & Ayurvedic Body Therapies & Manual Lymphatic Drainage at Healing Arts Collective in Downtown Redding.

During an Ayurvedic Consultation, Whitney will ask you a variety of questions around your physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Upon completion of the Consultation, Whitney will capture your conversation with an in-depth email and care-plan catering to your needs. This is a collaborative experience, and there will be dates outlined for follow-up and check-ins. In addition, Ayurvedic Body Therapies or Manual Lymphatic Drainage are recommended to compliment the Ayurvedic lifestyle path. It is advised to receive a session anywhere between 1x biweekly, 1x monthly or 1x quarterly, depending on your needs.

Whitney is able to make the practice of Ayurveda digestible to the western mind. It is her mission to blend East & West, and offer each client positive energy and unwavering mind-body-spirit support.
