It starts with a vision.
Our intention creates our reality.
Like many wellness practitioners Whitney had a vision; a shared space where wellness practitioners can collaborate and treat their clients. An upscale environment, where people can feel comfortable & safe to relax, enjoy themselves, & sometimes work on very difficult topics even. For many years she ran North State Ayurveda on her own and was being drawn to a space that she could share and connect with others in the field. In 2020 she opened Healing Arts Collective.
Whitney & Kat had met previously in 2017 when their paths crossed at National Holistic Institute in Redding. Whitney was the program director and Kat was in one of the first class groups at the new Redding campus. After graduation Kat worked in private practice until deciding to become a stay at home parent. In 2021 Whitney was ready to grow the Collective, but she was dedicating much of her time treating clients in her Ayurvedic practice. After the two reconnected the year after HAC opened its doors, Kat came on to help Whitney with marketing and general operations.
Competition is the enemy of creativity. When you stop competing, you start creating.
Over the years Whitney & Kat worked closely together to grow HAC into the community it is today. Together they embraced each other's strengths & interests, picking up where the other wasn't interested or able. When time or energy was running low for one, the other would pick up the workload. Meetings feel like magic when you allow all parties to revel in their passions. They combined visions, creativity, organization, talent and energy & divided workload and tasks based around personal obligations, time and skill. It is through this synchronicity that the business relationship changed into a partnership.
The understanding that neither party would give more than they could mentally and energetically has seeped into the Collective over the years in the most delicious way. While deadlines and growth are important as a business, our practitioners know that we value both drive & personal boundaries. We pivot when needed, & we take our families and our own well-being seriously. We have seen our practitioners through growth, loss, birth & everything in between. By consciously choosing to trust our own boundaries, and allow a slow & steady growth of the Collective, we have fostered a community of people who not only collaborate in business but trust and support each other through life's ups & downs. When our practitioners take a break from the business we understand how they feel. "This business means a lot to me, but this break is important."

The art of life is a constant readjustment to our surroundings.
The ability to pivot, adjust and welcome change is a pillar of the relationship between the Whitney & Kat and a core reason the Collective has had the success it has. The business model has stayed the same, yet simultaneously changed many times over. By not being attached to a single outcome, by playing with concepts, and trusting the practitioners & community, Healing Arts has been formed into not just a small business but a community that is ever growing. Ever changing.
